Southern California Beaches
Long Beach, located 40 miles south of Van Nuys, offers its citizens numerous places to recreate and spend time with family and friends, from the vast 800-acre El Dorado Regional Park to neighborhood mini parks to the southern end of town bordered by a sandy beach and gentle waves. Long Beach's ocean front stretches 11 miles and offers beautiful views, a bicycle-pedestrian path, concessions and a fishing pier. Other beach locations include Alamitos Bay and Marine Stadium.
With spectacular views, endless white golden sand and daily sunshine the beaches of Los Angeles should not be missed. From Malibu in the North to Long Beach in the South, the coastline of Los Angeles County consists of over 70 miles of sun kissed white sand facing the Pacific Ocean. Famous LA beaches and small secluded coves mingle along the aptly named Pacific Coast Highway, which hugs this complete stretch of coastline. For sheer scenic pleasure however, the drive North from Santa Monica to Malibu and beyond just cannot be beaten. You can stop almost any where along this stretch of coastline and enjoy a lazy day.
