How The King’s Online Program Works
- Participate in online orientation.
Students new to online education at The King’s will Student Learning Development as their first online course. Student Learning Development is designed to maximize your comfort with WebCT and ensure that you can access and participate in online courses without technical issues. The course will teach you how to use the various features and tools that enable you to communicate with the instructor and other students.
- Access course materials, lectures, and assignments.
Once you log into your online course, your computer becomes the virtual classroom. You can read lecture notes, course materials, and syllabi, as well as participate in interactive discussions, by posting and receiving messages via course discussion boards.
-
Interact with professors and classmates.
Although students and professors communicate and share resources electronically by exchanging messages, our courses transcend the limitations of a typical e-mail format by allowing all users to easily interact with each other. The result is enhanced dialogue between the student and professor and among the students themselves.
-
Attend class at your convenience.
Online courses mirror The King’s College and Seminary’s traditional classroom-style courses in that they are professor-led, interactive, feature specific start and end dates, require textbooks, and provide the same level of academic or professional credit as their "on-the-ground" counterparts. The major difference between the two formats is that the interaction that occurs within an online course is at your convenience at any time - day or night -during the week or on the weekend. You can thus fit your participation in the course around your schedule.
